Touring the Rockhampton Art Gallery

Find out how to access the building with wheelchairs, mobility scooters, aids for people with low vision, assisted listening systems and companion cards. Rockhampton Art Gallery strives to ensure that all visitors can access Gallery services and facilities.

Disability parking and access

There are two disability parking spaces on Cambridge Street at the Pilbeam Theatre. Please note you are not able to book any accessible parking spaces in advance. Access ramps are located at the front and rear of the Gallery (rear ramp accessible via Quay Lane and front access ramp via the right hand side entrance to the Gallery along Victoria Pde).

Taxis and Buses

Taxis are able to drive along both access roads to the Gallery as required. Bus parking can be found along Cambridge Street, next to the Pilbeam Theatre (please be aware this parking is time restricted).

Carers with Companion Cards

Rockhampton Art Gallery is proud to support the Companion Card initiative, which enables people with long term disabilities access to events and venues across Australia. General entry to the Gallery is free to all visitors. However, where entry fees apply to exhibitions, if a cardholder presents their card their companion will be issued a second ticket for free. For more information see the Companion card website.

The Gallery has one public lift. This lift provides access to the first floor Gallery spaces and is located next to out Gallery cafe behind the Range Gallery.

A baby changing table and nappy bins are provided in the Gallery toilets. Prams and strollers are permitted inside the Gallery. Should you wish to store your pram during your visit, please see the staff at reception and they can arrange this for you.
