The Art of Soap Making (FULLY BOOKED)
The Art of Soap Making workshops are fully booked in May and June. We are currently organising future dates for later in the year. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be placed on the waiting list for these workshops.
Make your own bars of soap from scratch in this beginners’ workshop. Discover the method of cold process soap making and how to create the right balance of bubbles, creaminess and moisturisers.
Environmentally friendly and healthy for your skin, Amber Countryman’s favourite cold process recipe contains no animal fats, no palm oil and no artificial colours or fragrances. After this workshop, you will be able to make your own natural soap products in your home kitchen from basic ingredients.
Learn the process, which ingredients you can use to naturally colour your soap and what the word saponification means. Take home some glorious soap creations and try it for yourself.
All materials are provided, including soap ingredients and safety glasses. Please wear a long-sleeved, tight-fitting shirt and trousers.
Participants will take home three bars of soap each, and the knowledge of how to make more at home.
Please note that the soap takes up to four weeks to cure. Therefore, participants will have the option of taking a selection of Amber’s pre-made soaps home on the day, or coming back to the Art Gallery four weeks later to collect soaps made in the workshop.
Price: $55 | $50 Friends of the Gallery (includes all materials and three bars of soap)
Where: Rockhampton Art Gallery (entry via the front of the Gallery, directly off Victoria Parade)
Who: Anybody curious about trying a new activity or making a safe and environmentally friendly soap to use in the home or give as a gift
Parking: Victoria Parade or Bolsover Car Park behind the Gallery
