School's Out Art Mash-Up: Easter Pottery for 6 to 10-year-olds (FULL)

This workshop is fully booked. Please email gallery@rrc.qld.gov.au to express your interest in future pottery and children's workshops.

Easter holiday fun with pottery nest-making! These special nests can transform into plant pots or pencil holders afterwards.

Children are naturally creative, but as they get older and more focused on schoolwork and exams, they have less opportunity to get messy, get inventive, or express themselves through art.

Our two-hour School's Out Art Mash-Ups will give them the perfect break from homework and allow them to have fun by experimenting with pottery and letting their imaginations run wild. There is something to suit every inquisitive and creative mind.

Let your kids express their creative side by using clay to create a one-of-a-kind artwork to keep forever or give away as a gift. In this workshop, young artists will use their clever fingers to pinch, slap and roll out clay to make some Easter treasures. They will have the opportunity to make rabbits and bilbies that can hold a chocolate egg or two.

While your children are entertained and busy being creative, you can take in the Art Gallery exhibitions, enjoy a coffee from the café and relax.

The pieces will be fired with a clear glaze by the artist educator and returned for collection after firing, approximately a week after the workshop. This will ensure the artworks last a lifetime.
