Rockhampton Art Gallery Closed

Rockhampton Art Gallery will remain closed to the public as it transitions to the new Rockhampton Museum of Art, which is due to open in late 2021. Although we are closed to the public, we will still be hard at work behind the scenes preparing the collection for the move and future operations.

Education Resources

Rockhampton Art Gallery has a variety of exhibition resources that can be used through early, primary, secondary and tertiary years of study. These resources can be used for both before and after your visit to Rockhampton Art Gallery.

Counterparts Resources

Rockhampton Art Gallery’s acquisitions disproportionately represent male artists, yet the demographic of living practitioners primarily consist of women. Counterparts uses the Countess Report (2016) as a principal research source to create an exhibition about the work of female artists both in the Collection and wider Central-Queensland region.

Gallery Art Bus

Want to access the internationally acclaimed collection at the Rockhampton Art Gallery? Come and experience our current exhibition. The Rockhampton Art Gallery is pleased to be able to offer a 20 seater bus that can be hired to collect and drop off your school group. This bus can be hired at a cost of $50 (3hour booking) for your group and will be driven by one of our staff.
