CBD Pop-Up


Rockhampton Regional Council has a vision to bring together, business and cultural services to collectively revitalise the region’s CBD.

Aims & Outcomes:

  1. Inspire community to engage with creative practitioners .
  2. Provide opportunities to foster regionally developed products.
  3. Provide relevant experiences that stimulate and broaden interest, enjoyment of cultural, and the arts.
  4. Situate arts and culture as an integral part of the CBD vitality.
  5. Open up opportunities, skills development and cross fertilisation throughout the community
  6. Support cross-promotional opportunities and business awareness throughout the CBD
  7. Situate the Rockhampton region as hub of innovation and a springboard for creativity.
  8. Development of multi-dimensional retail sector that attracts a broad range of consumers blending commercial and cultural life of the community.
  9. Activate the CBD through a range of programs, events and operations from 9am – 9pm, 7 days a week.
  10. Support retail outlet for the regions makers without the cost and burden of setting up a shopfront.
  11. Offers a place and space where customers can meet the people behind the product, knowing they will always find something new and support our very own Queensland designers.


4/10 Denham Street

Artists can be:

• Both traditional or contemporary

• Showcasing artwork & product which can be available for sale by the artist.

• From the arts sector, including but not limited to performing arts and visual arts.


 • Must have an ABN or a completed Statement By Supplier form

• Must hold Public Liability for $20M

• Must have appropriate WHS and Insurance to be eligible and will be required to sight current tickets and licences

• Must hold Blue Card if undertaking children workshops

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Authority & Accountability • Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Specialist Knowledge & Skills • Knowledge of OH&S and risk management awareness
  • Judgement and Problem Solving • Ability to apply innovative solutions and ideas in the workplace
  • Authority & Accountability • Interpersonal communication skills • Knowledge and demonstrated commitment to the principles of a safe, welcoming and friendly environment

Submitting your Application:

Initial EOI application period:

1 October to 15 October 2018

Applications close 5pm Monday 15 October 2018

EOI terms:

· Monthly fee of $200.00 ($50.00 per week)

· Rolling leases/ subleases 1 month tenures (no longer than six months)

· Hours of operation minimum of 9am – 5pm

· Hold public liability to the value of $20M

· Council will contribute towards promoting the activity

Occupancy Period:

Leases will commence from October 2018

Applicants are encouraged to submit an application outlining ideal dates and Council will continue to maintain a wait-list of applicants ready to take occupancy

Applications to the opportunity should include:

Occupancy outline (max 500 words)

Relevant resume

Selection of images (10 only)

Description of workshops and any intention to sell goods.
