Applications are now open for Central Queensland artists to apply to undertake a residency at Rockhampton Museum of Art in 2022.

Rockhampton Museum of Art is offering three opportunities in 2022 for regional artists to undertake an Artist in Residence in our Collection Study Room. This residency will allow access to Rockhampton Museum of Art’s nationally significant collection, collection database and arts library. This residency enables a guest artist to work in a new environment, away from the restrictions and pressures of everyday life. It aims to provide the time and space to develop work and creatively explore new ideas.

Expectations of the artist

1. Selected artist would spend a total of 4 weeks undertaking the residency during business hours of the Museum.
2. Selected artist to contribute a written response, this may take the form of an essay, research paper or reflective piece. The written response will be publicly available through digital or printed publication.
3. Selected artist will offer open studio times for public viewing and conversation showcasing their work and also to offer public programs.
4. Selected artist will record a podcast with Rockhampton Museum of Art and undertake a social media takeover of Rockhampton Museum of Art Instagram account.
