The 2018 Annual Giving Campaign will support three key projects that will enable the Gallery to build the Collection; deliver high quality exhibitions to engage art lovers from around the world; and broaden creative learning opportunities for children and aspiring artists.

PROJECT ONE | Building the Permanent Collection - Gold Award

In 2018 Rockhampton Art Gallery will present the forth Gold Award 2018. One of the richest art prizes in Australia, the Award has been made possible through a generous bequest to the then Rockahmpon Art Gallery Trust from the Estte of Moya Gold (1928-2000). Moya was a philanthropiest who understood the joys nd opporitntiest the arts and educations can bring to a community anf broader  society. Designed as an invitational award to consider the best in contemporary printing while simultanrousytl building a substantive collection, The Gold Award 2018 offers the chance to acquire the best in Australian contemporary art in the heart of Central Queensland. Your can help us purchase additional works from the Award by donating to this project.

Your contribution will go toward purchasing a artwork by a leading living Australian contemporary painter.

PROJECT TWO | Support Regional Arts

In 2019 the Rockhampton Art Gallery will present the 2019 Bayton Award. The Bayton Award is an initiative of the Rockhampton Art Gallery Philanthropy Board, Rockhampton Regional Council and is hosted by Rockhampton Art Gallery. The Award is open to artists of the Central Queensland region and is the prize package of cash and in-kind contributions is valued at a total of $17,000. Judged by the Philanthropy Board and Rockhampton Art Gallery Director, the Bayton Award for Central Queensland artists is a biennial, acquisitive Award celebrating the diversity and excitement of visual arts in Central Queensland.

The Bayton Award supports local artists by providing a national showcase for their work and by purchasing selected works for the Gallery's permanent collection.

Your donation will help us to raise funds for the purchase of works from the Bayton Award 2018 and thereby expand the Gallery's holdings of contemporary works from our region.

PROJECT THREE | Opportunity for Creative Learning and Engagement

Each year the Gallery runs a comprehensive program of creative learning activities delivered by professional artists. The programs are tailored to meet the differing needs and interests of children from as young as three months, right through to our elders.

The Gallery is committed to ensuring that the diverse demographics within the community have the opportunity to participate in, and engage with the arts. The Gallery’s learning and engagement programs recognise the importance that creative activities play in improving educational outcomes, including literacy, numeracy, fine motor skills, and memory simulation as well as social and emotional well-being.

Your support of the Gallery’s creative learning and engagement programs will enable the Gallery to broaden the scope and reach of its programs in both a financially accessible and sustainable capacity.
