Bill Gannon Afternoon Art-Walk at CQUniversity
Join the Friends of the Rockhampton Art Gallery for an afternoon stroll to view artist Bill Gannon’s transformation of CQUniversity’s North Rockhampton Campus.
The walking tour of CQUniversity's Northside Campus is to view the work of Bill Gannon and other artists, notably indigenous artist Barry Rainman Boland, working with Bill’s assistance. Some pieces are painted solely with spray cans, others roller and brushes, some mixed. Most are large works.
The afternoon event shall encompass a walk to view the artworks followed by a talk by Bill and refreshments back at the Birdcage.
Date: Saturday 13 May 2017
Time: meet at 2.45 pm, walk starts at 3pm sharp followed by a 30 minute talk by Bill Gannon and refreshments
Where: Meet at Building 1, Chancellery Lawns at 2.45pm (Please see map for directions)
Capacity: 30 people
Ticket cost: $10 Friends$ |12 others (Must be pre-paid online prior to the event)
Refreshments: CQUniversity is kindly providing nibbles, juice, tea and coffee and a pay bar will be open for those wishing to purchase wine or beer.
About BILL GANNON ARTIST - Bill’s artwork has covered animation, portraiture, landscapes, sculpture and murals. Major commissions include various expeditions following European explorers of Australia, involving both field and studio work. Exhibitions have been held around Australia and Germany. Works have appeared in national magazines and on national TV.
