Meetups are a great way to find other people with interests similar to yours. Meetups are an open invitation with no formalities at a regular location to meet, share, make or work together. The Gallery provides a space and place for those within the community with an interest in art to come together.  If you are a independent worker, entrepreneur, designer, freelancer, tech head, artist, photographer, writer, thinker, blogger, programmer or ideas person, and you are stuck at home, staring at four walls, suffering from creative block or just wanting to meet other like minded people – then why don’t you come on down to Rockhampton Art Gallery’s Meetups.

Mono and Relief Printmaking with Peta Lloyd

Saturday 25 March and Saturday 1 April 2017, 10.15 - 3.30pm

A short weekend course with regionally based printmaker Peta Lloyd is being held at the Rockhampton Art Gallery. In this weekend workshop held over two concurrent Saturdays, Artist Peta Lloyd will take you on a journey to experience the delights of three printmaking techniques in this introduction to printmaking workshop. Everyday objects, such as those depicted in the exhibition Beautifully Mundane, will be used as inspiration and reference in the creation of stencils, drawings and prints.

A weekly program that leverages off the back of the Gallery's gentle surroundings and meditative space. This program aims to give both the busy office worker and the gym fearing person a space and time to bring together a healthy body and mind. Offered once a week the program is hosted by an expert in the field of relaxation and exercise. What better way to open your mind than taking advantage of the space and time to immerse yourself in the Gallery.

Beginner Anatomy and Figure Drawing

Wednesday 26 April - Wednesday 14 June 2017, 6.00pm - 8.00pm, once a week on a Wednesday

Let our skilled artist and educator take you on an exploratory journey through the anatomy of the human body. Over an 8-week course, you will progress through learning about gesture, proportion and perspective with a variety of art materials. Take time-out for yourself and uncover ways to breakdown and depict the human form through drawing. Whether you’re a beginner or have a little bit of experience under your belt, our facilitator will guide you week by week as you develop your skills.
