Winter Artist Markets

Rockhampton Art Gallery is seeking artists to express interest in a Winter Artist Market at the Gallery in 2017. The markets will be held on the last Sunday of the months in May, June, July and August 2017.  For the Winter Artist Markets to come to life we are looking for your artworks, products and skills that celebrate, profile, create and showcase your art practice to the broader community.

The Winter Artist Markets will breathe life and creativity into the cultural precinct of Rockhampton. A Friends of Rockhampton Art Gallery initiative, the Winter Artist Markets will: Celebrate central Queensland artists and artisans; Publicly profile central Queensland’s contemporary arts practitioners; Create commercial and retail opportunities for central Queensland artists and artisans.

Artist can be both traditional and contemporary, selling a product or providing a service from across the arts sector, including but not limited to visual arts and performing arts.

Merilyn Luck Gallery 

EOIs will be assessed 30 days from receipt

The Merilyn Luck Gallery is a small-scale exhibition space on the Gallery’s first floor. Offering the choice of 18.5 running metres of wall space, or a five metre long showcase, Central Queensland artists are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), outlining their exhibition proposals.

The Merilyn Luck Gallery is open to Central Queensland artists residing in the following regions and shires: Rockhampton, Livingstone, Gladstone, Banana, Woorabinda, Central Highlands, Isaac, Barcaldine, Blackall-Tambo, Longreach, Winton, Barcoo, Diamantina and Boulia. Expressions of Interest are now closed for the 2016 exhibition slots.

The Bayton Award 2017

Monday 3 April, 4.00pm

The Bayton Award is an initiative of Rockhampton Art Gallery Philanthropy Board, Rockhampton Regional Council and hosted by Rockhampton Art Gallery valued at $17,000 of cash and in-kind contributions and is open to artists of the Central Queensland region.

The Bayton Award is open to artists residing in the following regions and shires: Rockhampton, Livingstone, Gladstone, Banana, Woorabinda, Central Highlands, Isaac, Barcaldine, Blackall-Tambo, Longreach, Winton, Barcoo, Diamantina and Boulia.
